About UMID
UMID is a growing, clinician-led mental health service offering specialist care for neurodevelopmental and complex mental health needs in Hampshire. We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality, compassionate, and person-centred care through comprehensive multidisciplinary assessments and therapeutic interventions.
Our team specialises in working with children, young people, and families – particularly those with neurodevelopmental conditions such as autism and ADHD, as well as those with a history of trauma, attachment difficulties, or adoption.
We are looking for a Clinical Psychologist and an Occupational Therapist to join our growing team as UMID Associates on a self-employed basis.
The Role
As part of our specialist team, you will:
* Contribute to autism and ADHD assessments as a member of a complex, multidisciplinary team.
* Deliver individual therapeutic interventions tailored to children, young people, and families.
* Participate in MDT discussions to support collaborative case formulation and recommendations.
* Provide clinical expertise in trauma-informed, neurodevelopmentally-focused care.
What We Offer
* Highly competitive rates:
* £100 per assessment session.
* £75 per 50-minute therapy session.
* £75 per hour for participation in MDT discussions as part of complex assessments.
* Rates for autism and ADHD assessments vary depending on individual contribution (e.g., ADOS-2/ADI-R administration, MDT participation, report writing) but remain highly competitive.
* Access to fully equipped consulting rooms at no extra cost.
* Free use of electronic healthcare records and access to mandatory training.
* Free parking on-site (plus plenty of tea, coffee, and biscuits!).
* Opportunities to work on varied, complex, and meaningful cases within a supportive, values-driven team.
* Flexible hours with a minimum of 4 hours of patient-facing time per week, including evenings or weekends.
Requirements
* HCPC registration as a Clinical Psychologist or Occupational Therapist.
* Post-qualification experience in mental health or neurodevelopmental settings (minimum 2 years preferred).
* Experience working with children, young people, and families.
* Knowledge and interest in autism, ADHD, trauma, and attachment.
* Excellent communication, assessment, and report-writing skills.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Formal training in ADI-R (Autism Diagnostic Interview – Revised) and ADOS-2 (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule – 2).
* Expertise in trauma-informed care and sensory processing.
* Experience with adoption and looked-after children.
* Experience working in private or independent practice.
