About the Role - Trainee Teaching Assistant

We’re looking for a Trainee Teaching Assistant in the Dursley area to work within a specialist school setting, gaining real classroom experience while being fully supported and trained.
As a Trainee Teaching Assistant, you’ll be learning on the job and building confidence in a structured, supportive environment.
What you’ll be doing as a Trainee Teaching Assistant:
1. Supporting pupils in class, in small groups, or 1:1
2. Helping staff with day-to-day classroom activities
3. Supporting behaviour and engagement in learning
4. Adapting to different routines and school environments
5. Building confidence working with children and young people
Trainee Teaching Assistant Training Programme
Before and during your placement as a Trainee Teaching Assistant, you’ll complete practical training including:
6. Safeguarding
7. Behaviour management
8. Introduction to being a Teaching Assistant
9. SEND awareness
Full support is provided throughout your journey as a Trainee Teaching Assistant.
