Based at our Manufacturing facility in Abercynon, Wales, our Engineering Industrial Placement Programme not only increases your technical skills but gives you the opportunity to work on meaningful real-life projects, alongside experienced engineers across our business.
Commencing on the 6th July 2026, for 8 weeks, this programme is remunerated at £24,784.50 per annum, pro-rata.
You'll receive coaching and support to achieve your personal goals and work in multidisciplinary teams to gain as much experience across the product lifecycle from your time in industry as possible.
Our ultimate aim is to see you through your undergraduate years and with the potential for further placements and Graduate opportunities post study.
WHAT YOU WILL DO AS AN INDUSTRIAL PLACEMENT ENGINEER
Look forward to working with highly skilled professionals who are passionate about their work of designing and developing cutting edge technology for a worldwide market. Each of our sites specialises in different products and technologies, including power electronics, microcircuits, test equipment, human machine interfaces, sensors, magnetics, semiconductor components, cables and connectors.
Reporting to an experienced Engineer, who'll provide day to day guidance and on-the-job training, you'll:
1. Be introduced to Engineering development processes and utilise state-of-the-art methods, technology and tools
2. Gain experience on one or more aspects of the Engineering development lifecycle, which could include: applied research, requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, and test
3. Learn practical skills that may not be easily gained or experienced in the academic environment of a university
4. Receive coaching and support to achieve your personal goals and work in multidisciplinary teams to gain as much experience across the product lifecycle from your time in industry as possible
Qualifications, Skills and Attributes
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
This is an exciting opportunity for students currently studying (or who have completed their studies) in the field of engineering.
5. All our Engineering Industrial Placement roles require you to be currently studying a relevant degree discipline such as Engineering or Mathematics, or other STEM related subjects
6. Applications are also welcomed from candidates who have completed an undergraduate degree and are looking to gain industrial experience prior to commencing a relevant higher degree (. PhD, MSc)
To ensure full integration with your team and to maximise your learning experience, all our placement roles are full - time, site-based.
A full statement of courses and projects studied at university should be included in your application.
Please also include a personal statement of no more than 300 words stating what excites you about the engineering and manufacturing sector.
NATIONALITY AND SECURITY RESTRICTIONS
Please be aware that many roles at TT Electronics are subject to both security and export control restrictions which means that limitations relating to nationality may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates must achieve Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS). TT Electronics is unable to sponsor work visas for this role.
