As a Python Software Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the agile development team, you will contribute to the enhancement, design, and delivery of the firm's cutting-edge technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable manner. As a growing member of our software engineering team, you will be responsible for executing software solutions through the design, development, and technical troubleshooting of various components within a technical product, application, or system, all while acquiring the skills and experience necessary for professional growth.
Job Responsibilities
1. Develop innovative software solutions to automate corporate bond & credit derivative trading workflows and provide data intelligence services
2. Work within and contribute back to large, cross line of business platforms to advance the scale of the firm’s technology
3. Design, develop, implement, and troubleshoot with consideration of upstream and downstream systems and technical implications
4. Be creative, quick-thinking, pragmatic, with an aptitude for solving problems and translating demands into sound technical requirements
5. Apply technical troubleshooting to break down solutions and solve technical problems of basic complexity
6. Learn and apply system processes, methodologies, and skills for developing secure, stable code and systems

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
1. Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and applied experience
2. Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
3. Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment using one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
4. Demonstrable ability to code in one or more languages
5. Experience across the entire Software Development Life Cycle
6. Curiosity to learn about financial markets products
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
1. Experience building systems in Python
2. Familiarity with modern front-end technologies
3. Knowledge of credit or similar financial markets products and market structure
