Your new role Working with senior leadership team to ensure business activity is delivered to the highest quality, in the most cost-effective manner to ensure we deliver our operational goals and within our financial budgets Business partner with the NI Director and operational team to provide financial insights to inform strategic decision making Improve understanding and impact of financial reporting on performance of the business unit Expected to present directly to FD for the unit, and to Director for NI as required Demonstrating strong control and analytical thinking, and have overall responsibility and accountability for financial forecasting, planning, reporting of actuals and analysis Having a firm control of the risks and opportunities across NI's capital investment programmes, actively (i) mitigating risks and (ii) driving opportunities Preparing accurate and timely monthly financial information for capital investment budget holders; working with them to understand variances and impact on KPIs Improving the impact, and insight, of financial reporting on business performance, clearly communicating the results and recommending actions to drive ever improving efficiency and cost points for each of the capital investment programmes Driving value for money and ensuring commercial decision-making principles are applied Interrogate and analyse key adverse variances and conduct root cause analysis where applicable Providing appropriate analysis and insight to inform business decisions; including key unit cost metrics Ad hoc projects (incl. raising of estimates and programme codes for operational stakeholders, and registration of AICC) Identification of potential areas of improvement within the existing month end processes and support ongoing business change initiatives Government Grants reporting, claims, gainshare and any queries related to these What you'll need to succeed Bachelor's degree in business or related field (or equivalent experience) Fully qualified accountant / Further qualification to support specialism with significant PQE (.e.g. CIMA, ACCA, IIA, CISA, ACT, CTA, MCT, IR Society Certificate or equivalent) Experience of positively influencing business performance by using data, commentary, and analysis to inform decision making. Experience required of budget management, planning & forecasting and financial business partnering Strong excel modelling skills Translating complex financial outcomes to financial and non-financial stakeholders What you'll get in return Flexible working options available.
