Role: Platen Operator (Day Shift)
Location: Bishops Stortford
Hours: 06:45 - 18:45 (rotating 12-hour shifts)
Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday
Week 2: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
Pay: Circa £30,000 per year

About the Role:
Report to the machine supervisor for task allocation and paperwork
Read job dockets and check for any specific instructions or issues
Follow QC processes and ensure supervisor sign-off before starting jobs
Perform random quality checks during production
Label finished work correctly and inform the supervisor of its location
Log all jobs using Optimus RDC, including quantities and timings
Report any machine faults to the shift supervisor
Maintain a clean, efficient, and safe workspace
Follow recycling and waste procedures correctly
Follow all Safe Systems of Work (SSOW)
Responsible for blade changes and daily machine checks
Carry out additional tasks as reasonably requested by supervisors
Requirements:
Experience operating Platen machines is essential
Ability to follow instructions and raise issues when necessary
Competent in completing paperwork accurately in English
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Proactive and self-managing
