Position Summary
The main function of the job is to organise, direct and perform verification and validation testing of products that have been designed by the company.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
* Run entire validation and verification projects from inception to release for both magnetics products and power supplies
* Monitor and maintain suitable standards of qualification, validation and verification across the organization, including the quality of presented results and the adherence to procedures/work instructions
* Create test plans and schedules for validation and verification
* Preparation and execution of validation and verification tests in accordance with the plan and individual test work instructions
* Design and preparation of electro-mechanical fixtures for design verification (DVT), environmental (validation) and other ATE systems
* Preparation and detailed statistical analysis of results and reporting as required
* Review of current test standards to ensure we are delivering the highest quality products
* Liaise technically with product design engineers and production engineers to understand and facilitate the necessary testing to verify performance
* Can multi-task whilst maintaining a professional approach to the tasks at hand
* Provide first line support of the test systems used by other people
* Provide input into the definition and design of templates for the presentation of results
* Support of other departments and other locations
* Oversee/define work undertaken by subordinate engineers/technicians.
* Understand the concepts of PFMEA, DFMEAs, control plans and the general purpose and scope of the IATF requirements
* Understand the concepts of electrical safety (such as IEC62368 and 60601)
Experience Required
To effectively perform the duties of a Validation and Verification Engineer, Individuals must be able to demonstrate several competencies that are relevant to the position, which include:
Essential
* Formal qualification equivalent to HND level in electronics or related discipline. Candidates with equivalent experience may be considered
* Have a methodical and structured approach to time management and task execution and be able to work to plans with tight timescales
* IT literate including familiarity with MS office software
* Ability to work in a team effectively whilst being self-motivated
* Be a proactive and good communicator to drive projects and tasks to timely completion
* Organised and able to structure work such that multiple tasks can be completed concurrently
Desirable
* Experience in a test/test design environment
* Product/component testing experience
* Experience of electrical safety
* Experience in qualification/environmental/validation testing
* Experience of reliability engineering
* PCB design and layout skills
* Mechanical Design/Modelling skills
* Knowledge of Excel macros and/or VBA (Visual Basic for Applications)
* Coding experience (especially in a test environment), particularly Test Stand
* Statistical Analysis experience
