As Youth Theatre Co-Ordinator, you will ensure the smooth administration of our Lichfield Youth Theatre sessions on Sundays, supporting the Youth Theatre Leader in providing safe and enjoyable sessions. You will work alongside the Community Engagement Manager to provide communication with participants and their parents/carers, plan and gather resources for end of term sharings or informal performances, and maintaining a good working knowledge of participants attendance and support requirements. You will be willing and able to work alone on administrative tasks whilst having to switch to support sessions in the room as required. You will be positive, organised, and approachable and enjoy working with children from ages 7-18. You will have understanding of, or willingness to learn about, safeguarding young people and health and safety (all relevant training will be provided). This role requires the successful candidate to undertake an Enhanced DBS check. In return we can offer you a genuinely interesting role which makes a fundamental difference to the youth theatre participants and other team members. The role will be required to work every Sunday in term time, 8 hours between 9am-6pm. There will be potential for occasional additional hours during the week, which will be paid as overtime. JOB DESCRIPTION YOUTH THEATRE Supporting Sunday Youth Theatre rehearsals, including setting up and clearing away spaces, following risk assessments to ensure a safe and welcoming environment, and ensuring the session space is left secure. Preparing registers and recording attendance for workshops and sessions Liaise with Community Producer to feedback on session numbers, attendance, and participant feedback, including changes to membership of regular sessions Assist with gathering of materials/resources for sessions Ensuring all emergency contact/safety data for participants is collected and ready for sessions Support child licensing applications by maintaining knowledge of support requirements of individual members of Young Garrick Providing up to date knowledge of the Young Garrick and acting as first point of call for questions during sessions from participants and parents/carers. Assist in monitoring Young Garrick email account and using this to communicate important practical information to participants and parents/carers. SAFEGUARDING 2.1. Contributing to the work of the Garrick’s Safeguarding Team, ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed in respect of all Community Engagement activities. 2.2. Maintain knowledge of the Garrick’s Safeguarding procedures 2.3 Support freelance facilitators in providing a safe and welcoming environment and responding to safeguarding concerns in sessions.
