Role – Senior Officer (Child Protection)
Location - GCHSCP, Ladywell Business Centre, 94 Duke Street, Glasgow, G4 0UW
Contract Status – Temporary up to 31st March

At Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership (GCHSCP) the Child Protection team covers the whole of the city. We work in partnership with our colleagues in the localities and with our partner agencies to develop and deliver best practice within the child protection framework. This also involves training, evaluation and audit priorities.
This Senior Officer role is a pilot for Devolved Decision Making (DDM). As the Senior Officer you will:
• Work as part of the child protection team.
• Support the delivery of the devolved decision-making pilot within Glasgow City Council. This is a Home Office funded pilot to identify victims of trafficking and exploitation through the National Referral Mechanism (NRM).
• Work collaboratively and in partnership with partner agencies and existing Senior Officers.
Applicants must either possess a Degree / Diploma in Social Work (or Social Work equivalent). Please refer to the Person Specification for full details of the required qualifications, skills, knowledge and competencies that are required for the above role.
Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme is essential on taking up appointment. Please note successful candidates for the above role will be required to pay for their PVG Membership.
Registration to the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) is an essential requirement for this role. You must either be already registered or have applied within 3 months and be registered within 6 months from your start date. Please note as part of the local government pay deal, local authority staff are currently not required to pay SSSC fees.
