As a Communications Officer, that involves: Co-ordinate and respond to media enquiries on all aspects of SEPA's work, which may be high-profile and complex Prepare media releases. statements and other materials to support proactive communications about SEPA's work, for example Work with senior leaders and subject matter experts to agree and sign-off media lines and positions Work with the wider Communications and Marketing Department to ensure that there is consistency of messaging across our various channels Support our communications response to emergency events and resilience exercises. Communications officers also take part in our out of hours duty rota Respect for your expertise This is a highly important role within our Governance, Performance & Engagement portfolio, which means you’ll need: Relevant degree and/or equivalent experience in media, communications or journalism Experience working in a busy communications team across multiple subjects, preferably working on a media or news desk or experience in journalism Evidence of delivery of high quality proactive and reactive media content Demonstrable understanding of public sector and media landscape Previous experience advising senior leaders and subject matter experts Please open the link to the Communications Officer role profile which outlines the core responsibilities and expectations of the role within a defined activity family.
