Paediatric Occupational Therapist
Location
Regional role, South West London – Primarily school-based with some clinic and remote opportunities.
Salary
Up to £65,000 per annum + £2,000 welcome bonus.
Hours
37.5 hours per week, Monday to Saturday.
Contract
Permanent (52 weeks) or Summer contract (50 weeks plus 5 weeks during school summer break).
Responsibilities
As a Paediatric Occupational Therapist, you will unlock students’ potential by assessing needs for Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and providing specialised interventions. You will work collaboratively with parents, carers, multidisciplinary and teaching teams across various school and clinical settings to ensure interventions are integrated into the young person’s daily life. Key responsibilities include:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of children or young people’s developmental or learning needs for EHCPs.
- Develop and implement individualised intervention plans.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents and other professionals to integrate goals into the child’s environment.
- Evaluate intervention effectiveness.
- Provide training and upskilling to key adults.
- Maintain accurate documentation.
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings for coordinated care.
Qualifications
- HCPC and RCOT registration.
- Recognised Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in occupational therapy.
- Paediatric occupational therapy experience.
- Experience within a specialist paediatric setting and school settings.
- Experience completing assessments for EHCPs.
- Specialist CPD and/or training.
- Trauma-informed care experience.
- Experience working with paediatric social, emotional and mental health needs.
