Hourly Paid Lecturer in Sports Science at Nottingham Trent University in Mansfield. Location: Mansfield Hub. Employment type: Hourly Paid/Casual Contract. Salary: £50.72 per direct teaching hour; number of hours and days may vary. Closing date: 06/11/2025. School / Directorate: School of Science and Technology. Team: Sports Science.
This is a flexible, hourly-paid opportunity to contribute to academic teaching alongside other commitments. The role is within the Sport, Health and Performance Enhancement (SHAPE) Research Centre, offering mentoring and professional development opportunities.
Responsibilities
* Deliver engaging and applied teaching in Sports Science, with emphasis on team sport performance and performance analysis at Level 5 and Level 6.
* Act as module leader for a small cohort of undergraduate students, providing high-quality, research-informed teaching and assessment.
* Develop students’ analytical and applied skills and prepare them for careers in sport performance and related fields.
* Contribute to the scheduled programme of work, including teaching, preparation, and marking; the role states that the elements to be undertaken will be defined in the schedule (two or more of these elements).
Qualifications and Experience
* A postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline is essential.
* Strong academic or applied background in sport science.
* Prior experience of teaching in higher education is desirable.

You will join the Department of Sport Science within the Sport, Health and Performance Enhancement (SHAPE) Research Centre, in a dynamic and supportive team. The department collaborates with colleagues in Biosciences, Chemistry and Forensics, Engineering, Computing, and Mathematics and benefits from strong interdisciplinary links. This is a flexible, hourly-paid position suited for professionals contributing to academic teaching alongside other commitments.
