Job Description
As the Management Accountant based from Kingston, Surrey you will be responsible forOverviewTo oversee the month end cost accrual process including preparation of month end postings, analysis of performance against budget and last year, balance sheet recs and balance sheet review.ResponsibilitiesMonth End
3. Taking ownership and responsibility for key account lines within the P&L, ensuring understanding of balances and accuracy of reporting;
4. Ensure all month end cost journals are calculated and processed accurately and on a timely basis for key account lines within the P&L;
5. Explanation of variances compared to budget and last year;
6. Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are completed on a monthly basis, investigate and resolve any variances on a timely basis;
7. Management of Fixed Asset Register including reporting on CAPEX vs budget and liaising with business stakeholders;
8. Assisting in Intercompany reconciliations
9. Assist in year-end audit;
10. Daily and Weekly Sales Reporting - Working alongside other finance team members to ensure the accuracy and delivery of our sales reporting;
11. Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts;
12. Completion of National Statistics forms;
Commercial Analysis
13. Supporting ad hoc analysis across the channels: sales, costs and profitability as required
Business Partnering
14. Building relationships and business partnering across the business to enable a mutual understanding of financial impacts and projections
Ad hoc reporting and analysis
15. Review and redesign of reporting, when appropriate, to ensure value-add outputs
16. Preparation of other ad hoc analysis as and when required
17. Support of wider finance team where appropriate
The Successful Applicant
18. Experienced Management Accountant
19. Qualified Accountant
20. Advanced excel skills
21. Retail Industry experience is desirable but not essential
22. Attention to detail and accuracy in all outputs
23. Strong communication skills with the ability to work well both within finance and across the business at all levels
24. Pro-active
25. Team player but ability to work independently
26. Ability to multi-task
27. Ability to work well under pressure and to varying deadlines.
28. Good analytical skills and problem solving skills.
29. Good time management and organisation.
30. View to improve procedures including shortening month-end, improve systems and processes where appropriate
