Health and Wellbeing Engagement Officer
Located at either Helmsley or Danby Lodge National Park Centre.
The North York Moors National Park Authority helps to care for one of the UK’s most distinctive protected landscapes. Spanning 554 square miles, the National Park is home to expansive heather moorland, woodland, remote dales, historic villages and dramatic coastline, and plays an important role in supporting nature, communities and sustainable access for visitors.
We are now looking for a Health and Wellbeing Engagement Officer to join us on a full‑time, permanent basis.

* Salary of £33,672 - £36,580 per annum
* 25 days’ annual leave, rising annually by one day to 30 days after five years’ service, plus public holidays

The Role
As a Health and Wellbeing Engagement Officer, you will design and deliver a programme of health and wellbeing activities that help connect people with nature, arts and culture across the North York Moors National Park.
Developing, building and maintaining strong relationships with health professionals, community partners and service users, you will help participants improve their health and wellbeing through meaningful engagement with the National Park. You will also leverage these relationships to support the delivery of inclusive and accessible opportunities.
A key element of the role is to engage underrepresented audiences with the National Park and our aims. You will focus on people living with long‑term conditions, those experiencing disadvantage, individuals from minoritised ethnic backgrounds, and children and young people.
You will also:
* Promote inclusive access to National Park opportunities
* Support participant engagement and ongoing involvement
* Monitor and evaluate programme outcomes
* Contribute to the development of future health and wellbeing initiatives
About You
* Experience of developing and delivering outdoor activities or events that connect people with nature and promote positive health and wellbeing outcomes
* Experience of working in and developing engagement through a range of channels, including face‑to‑face engagement, workshops, training, partner networks and online materials
* Knowledge of the benefits of nature‑based interventions for mental and physical health
* Knowledge of how to assess and evaluate the outcomes of engaging in the outdoors for health and wellbeing
* The ability to work collaboratively across sectors
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SharePoint and Teams
* A qualification in, or equivalent experience of, community work or leading health and wellbeing activities
* Five or more GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 9‑4 (A*-C), including English and Maths
