We are supporting a fast-growing renewable energy developer headquartered in London, delivering large-scale solar, wind and battery storage projects for major industrial and commercial customers across the UK and Europe.
Well-funded and expanding quickly, the business is helping clients meet ambitious decarbonisation goals and is now looking to appoint a Senior Legal Counsel (Projects) as it enters its next phase of growth.
The company develops, finances and delivers projects end-to-end from early-stage development through construction and long-term operation with a multi-market European portfolio backed by strong institutional investment and a rapidly expanding pipeline.
The role
As Senior Legal Counsel, you will work closely with the General Counsel and senior leadership team on a broad range of project development, construction and commercial matters. Responsibilities will include:
* Leading legal support across the full lifecycle of solar, wind and BESS projects.
* Drafting and negotiating development, construction, land and commercial agreements.
* Advising on regulatory and compliance issues linked to corporate decarbonisation frameworks (including EU and UK sustainability regimes).
* Working closely with development, commercial, engineering and finance teams.
* Managing external counsel and supporting investor/stakeholder interactions.
* Helping shape internal processes and legal frameworks as the business scales.
The candidate
* Strong projects experience within renewable energy or wider energy/infrastructure.
* Confidence running transactions and project workstreams end-to-end.
* A collaborative, pragmatic and commercially minded approach.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, early-stage environment.
* Flexibility and readiness to adapt as priorities shift and the organisation grows.
This is an excellent opportunity for a project development lawyer who wants to step into a high-growth clean energy business, work close to decision-makers, and play a meaningful role in delivering low-carbon infrastructure across Europe.
