MYDoc – Clinical Fellow (ST3-5 equiv) Gast / Hepa
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Fellow in Gastroenterology / Hepatology at Mid Yorkshire Teaching Trust (MYTT) on a fixed term basis for 12 months. This post will participate in the cross‑site senior trainee General Medicine Registrar On‑Call rota. Applicants will have the same educational opportunities as other trainees and have protected SDT timetabled. These posts are not recognised UK training posts, but post‑holders will have a named supervisor and support in scheduled educational opportunities within the Trust and specialties.
Main duties of the job
* Provision of care with responsibility for the management of patients with acute and chronic conditions, including complex cases.
* Referral of patients to other specialties as appropriate.
* Out‑patient activities and clinics.
* Involvement in specialty and cross‑specialty multi‑disciplinary teams and meetings.
* Involvement in relevant administrative duties.
* Teaching and supervision of junior medical staff and other clinicians as appropriate.
* Active involvement in audit and clinical governance, including service improvement activities.
Qualifications
* Full GMC Registration with licence to practice, or eligibility for the same, obtained prior to commencement.
* MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
* MRCP(UK) full diploma by the published deadline, or eligibility for the specialist register in general internal medicine by time of application, or completion of Irish Basic Specialty Training in medicine and the MRCPI full diploma by time of application.
* ATLS, ALS, APLS or PALS certification.
* Eligibility to work in the UK.
* Evidence of achievement of foundation competences from a UKFPO‑affiliated foundation programme or equivalent, in line with GMC standards/Good Medical Practice.
* Evidence of achievement of Internal Medicine Stage 1 capabilities.
* Demonstrates intelligent and analytical approach to problem solving.
