The Picture Assistant is responsible for sourcing all additional images that are not currently commissioned by the Picture Commissioners. These are needed to service the range of images needed for both internal and external uses, All4 and third party platforms and includes both acquisitions and non-priority shows).
KEY RESPONSIBLITIES
1. Working as part of the new Pictures team this role needs to liaise with UK production companies, US studios, Walter Presents and all other acquisition partners to acquire high-quality, eye-grabbing imagery that can be used across all Channel 4 platforms, internal needs and external press.
2. Work with the Asset Manager, Picture Commissioners, Picture Editors and Picture Operations Manager to ensure the right images are sourced to promote Channel 4’s content and Programmes.
3. Deliver assets to the various platforms and Digital Asset Management systems, to include metadata.
4. Manage the upkeep of the Channel 4 Press Images website.
5. Respond and manage the distribution of images to internal and external requests, when solutions can not be found via the Press website/Internal Pictures Team DAM system.
6. Assist Picture Commissioners with all aspects of photography production when required
7. Collaborate with Picture Commissioners to commission photography for lower priority shows when required
8. Deliver imagery that supports the priorities set out by Pictures Operation Manager in conjunction with Press, All 4, Marketing, Social and Corporate.
9. Realise the Channel 4, Channel 4 Streaming, E4 & More 4 tone-of-voice through sophisticated image selection and adhere to platform editorial guidelines as agreed with All 4 Editorial team
10. Working with the Pictures Operation Manager and the wider Pictures and All 4 team. Advise external and internal clients on the supply of picture assets for
11. use across the Channel with a view to achieving on-going improvements in the quality of supplied images.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Technical & Professional Skills
14. Proven experience in obtaining high-quality images from a variety of sources and picture editing.
15. Proven experience working within a digital/future media environment.
16. Knowledge of Photoshop/Lightroom.
17. Knowledge of Digital Asset Management Systems.
