Job Outline
To provide administrative and coordination support to the Social Value and Communities Team, helping to deliver initiatives that create positive impact for local communities. The apprentice will develop business administration skills while contributing to projects that support social value commitments, partnerships and community engagement.
Administrative Support
* Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Social Value Lead
* Maintain accurate records, databases and tracking systems for social value activities
* Assist in preparing reports, presentations and internal communications
* Support meeting coordination, including agendas, minutes and follow up actions
Community & Stakeholder Engagement
* Support West Kent at community events, volunteering activities and outreach programmes
* Liaise with local partners, charities, schools and community groups
* Help track and record social value outcomes and impact data
Project Support
* Assist in the delivery of social value initiatives and programmes
* Monitor progress against social value targets and commitments
* Support data collection for audit bids and performance reporting
Communications
* Help create content for newsletters, social media and internal updates
* Promote social value activities across West Kent
* Support case studies and success stories showcasing community impact
Learning & Development
* Work towards a Business Administration Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard
* Develop skills in communication, organisation, stakeholder engagement and data management
* Gain understanding of social value, corporate responsibility and community impact
Measures
* To maximise Social Value opportunities for the benefit of residents.
* To identify and access external funding for the benefit of residents.
* To support residents and refer to external Partnerships and services.
* To work with external partners and internal West Kent Staff.
Person specification
* Ability to communicate effectively and honestly with a wide range of individuals and organisations, verbally and in writing.
* An understanding of how to use digital communication in the community.
* Ability to use own initiative and actively participate.
* Good organisational and time management skills, with the ability to effectively prioritise a demanding workload.
* Ability to access and interpret data.
* Ability to work face-to-face work with individuals and/or community groups.
* Ability to work collaboratively with a range of people from different backgrounds to take forward shared priorities.
* Ability to learn project management and development skills.
* Ability to gain knowledge and practical experience of building partnerships across the community, voluntary and private sector.
* Ability to organise and facilitate community meetings and events.
* An approachable and positive manner.
Desirable
* Full UK driving licence and own transport
* Math and English at GCSE grade 4 and above
Will need to be flexible to work occasional evenings and weekends for which TOIL will be available.
