Trustee (Volunteer Role) – Ospreys Wheelchair Rugby

Some remote or hybrid attendance may be possible for Board meetings.
Hours
Quarterly Board meetings (approx. 2–3 hours each) plus occasional preparation and involvement in working groups or events.

About Ospreys Wheelchair Rugby
Ospreys Wheelchair Rugby is a growing and ambitious club dedicated to providing opportunities for people with disabilities to play and enjoy the sport of wheelchair rugby. We are passionate about inclusion, teamwork and community impact, and are proud to be part of the wider Ospreys family.
As the club continues to develop both on and off the court, we are seeking three new Trustees to join our Board and help shape our future strategy.
The role
Trustees play a vital role in the governance and long-term direction of the club. As a Trustee, you will work with fellow Board members and volunteers to ensure that Ospreys Wheelchair Rugby is sustainable, compliant, and achieving its mission of promoting disability sport.
Key responsibilities include:
* Attending and actively contributing to quarterly Board meetings
* Supporting the development of the club's strategy and monitoring its impact
* Ensuring compliance with legal, financial and governance requirements
* Safeguarding the club's resources and reputation
* Acting as an ambassador for the club and helping to build strong relationships with partners and the community
* Bringing specific expertise in business, legal, or charitable fields to strengthen the Board's decisions and support the club's growth
Skills and experience
We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas:
* Business leadership, finance or organisational development
* Legal expertise (contracts, governance, or charity law)
* Charitable or voluntary sector leadership and management
In addition, you should demonstrate:
* A genuine commitment to the values of inclusion and teamwork
* Ability to think strategically and make balanced decisions
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Integrity, independence and a collaborative approach
Previous Trustee or Board experience is welcome but not essential, as training and induction will be provided.
