Rate/Salary: 18.00 - 18.00 GBP Hourly
Job Type: Contract
Responsibilities
* Manage supplier relationships (up to 50 suppliers) to ensure delivery commitments align with production schedules
* Oversee planning and availability for approximately 1,000 part numbers, maintaining seamless material flow
* Drive continuous improvement by performing root cause analysis on supply and quality issues and implementing corrective actions
* Ensure inventory accuracy and planning system integrity, aligning stock levels with production demand
* Translate production requirements into actionable plans, raising requisitions, scheduling materials, and managing work orders
* Support engineering and process changes, ensuring minimal disruption to production and supply continuity
* Monitor and improve supplier performance metrics, owning accountability for delivery, quality, and reliability
* Collaborate cross-functionally to enhance forecasting accuracy, demand planning, and material availability at point of use
Qualifications
* Proven experience in materials planning, inventory control, or supply chain operations within a manufacturing environment
* Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a data‑driven mindset
* Understanding of production scheduling and capacity planning
* Experience using MRP or similar ERP systems (e.g., Lognet, MTS)
* Knowledge of Six Sigma or continuous improvement methodologies
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, or equivalent experience
