Recruiting Now - Positive Behaviour Support HLTA (PBS HLTA) Start Date: September 2025 Location: Shropshire | Multi-Site Specialist Academy Contract Type: Full-Time | Term-Time Only We are proud to be supporting a highly respected Specialist Academy in Shropshire in their search for a dedicated and skilled Positive Behaviour Support Higher Level Teaching Assistant (PBS HLTA) to join their team in September 2025. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a multi-site, all-through educational setting, supporting pupils from Reception through to Sixth Form with a wide range of learning difficulties. The academy is known for its compassionate, student-centred approach and commitment to inclusion and progress for every child. The Role: As a key member of the Behaviour and Pastoral Support Team, your role will focus on promoting a trauma-informed, positive behaviour support (PBS) approach. You'll collaborate closely with class teams, advising on best practice, modelling strategies, and providing direct support to pupils who may be experiencing behavioural, emotional, or social barriers to learning. This is an incredibly rewarding position for someone with a strong understanding of PBS, who wants to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people with additional needs. Key Responsibilities: - Deliver targeted behaviour support using trauma-informed PBS strategies - Advise and collaborate with teaching staff to embed best practice in classroom management - Support pupils to access the curriculum and achieve their full potential - Maintain accurate behavioural records and contribute to behaviour plans - Act as a role model for positive behaviour and emotional regulation We're Looking For Someone Who: - Has strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships with pupils, colleagues, and families - Can demonstrate a sound understanding of Positive Behaviour Support principles - Is confident in advising, motivating, and supporting classroom staff - Has excellent communication skills - both verbal and written - Is calm, approachable, and emotionally resilient in challenging situations - Can work autonomously and as part of a collaborative team This is more than just a classroom role - it's a chance to be part of a specialist, mission-driven environment where your input is valued and where you'll directly contribute to transforming lives.
