Commercial Assurance and Framework Management – Environment Agency
Join the Environment Agency's Commercial Assurance and Framework Management (CAFM) team, part of the Portfolio Management, Assurance & Commercial (PMAC) function, supporting the delivery of sustainable communities through effective commercial risk management.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the team overseeing commercial governance of contracts with key consultancies and contractors.
* Set up and manage pathfinder programmes that embed best practice and develop long‑term collaborative partnership arrangements.
* Provide country‑wide support to Integrated Delivery Management teams and the wider Project Management community, championing effective governance and commercial assurance.
* Develop excellent internal and external relationships and become expert on contractual and commercial interpretations within a high‑performing team.
* Participate in incident response duties and undertake required training.
* Work closely with local delivery hub leadership to ensure delivery of sustainable outcomes across programmes.
Essential Education & Experience
* A‑Level or Level 3 qualifications or equivalent.
* Strong communicator with interpersonal and influencing skills.
* Stakeholder management experience.
* Strong data and document management skills.
* Commercial acumen – ability to analyse business situations, take proportionate risks and deliver value for money.
* Administration skills – organisation, minute‑taking and report drafting.
* Willingness to pursue professional qualifications (e.g., NEC training, CIPS).
* Interest in infrastructure, construction or environmental programmes.
Desired Qualifications
* Degree or equivalent professional qualification.
* Progressing towards membership of a recognised professional body (ICE, CIWEM, APM, CIPS, RICS).
* Formal contract‑management training (e.g., NEC, Contract Management Capability Programme).
