Our globally renowned aerospace client is seeking an experienced System Safety Engineer to join its specialist Safety Engineering team supporting a range of UK defence aerospace programmes. The successfulcandidatewillcontributetothedevelopmentofsafetycaseartefactsforBoeingproductsand services within the UK defence domain, ensuring that systems meet the highest safety and certification standards throughout their lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Applyrecognisedsystemsafetymethodologiesandtoolstodefineandmanagesafety requirements in line with defence and aerospace regulations.
Conductsystemsafetyandhazardanalyses,ensuringcompliancewithrelevantstandardssuch as Def Stan 00-056 and MIL-STD-882E.
Developstructuredsafetyargumentsanddocumentation,including SafetyCasesandService Assurance Cases, using frameworks such as Goal Structuring Notation (GSN) or Claims, Argument and Evidence (CAE).
Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary engineering teams, project leads, and external stakeholderstointegratesafetyprinciplesacrossallphasesoftheproductandservicelifecycle.
EssentialRequirements:
Degree(BEng/MEngorequivalent)inAerospace,Systems,orSafetyEngineering.
10+yearsexperienceinaerospaceengineering,including 6+yearsinasystemsafetyorrelated role.
Strongbackgroundinsafety-criticalandregulatedindustries(e.g.aerospace,defence, automotive, rail).
ProvenknowledgeofsystemsafetyprocessessuchasFunctionalHazardAssessment(FHA), System Safety Assessment (SSA), and Common Cause Analysis (CCA).
SkilledinsafetyanalysistechniquesincludingFaultTreeAnalysis(FTA)andBowtieAnalysis.
Excellentwrittenandverbalcommunicationskills,withtheabilitytopresentcomplextechnical information clearly.
DesirableSkillsandExperience:
FormalqualificationsortraininginSystemSafetyEngineering.
ExperiencedevelopingServiceAssuranceCasesfordefenceprogrammes.
