Parts Department Supervisor – Progressing a New Parts Department and making it your own!!
Location of the Parts Supervisor / Parts Sales Advisor / Parts Business Development / Parts Manager / Parts Specialist / Automotive Parts Sales / Commercial Vehicle Parts: Paisley Scotland
Salary for the Parts Supervisor / Parts Sales Advisor / Parts Business Development / Parts Manager / Parts Specialist / Automotive Parts Sales / Commercial Vehicle Parts: £35,000 - £45,000 depending on your experience (opportunity to progress and earn more as well as bonus / commission as the department grows - endless opportunities)
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday either 8am - 5pm or 9am - 6pm (quite flexible with the hours)
My client, a Fleet Maintenance workshop, have a new parts department which has been running for a short while, they are on the looking for an experienced Parts Supervisor to take on this challenge of turning a new parts department into their own.

As the Parts Department Supervisor, you won’t be managing a team as yet — you’ll be creating the blueprint for how the department operates. From designing workflows and selecting suppliers to setting service standards and training staff, you’ll be the driving force behind a department that will become a cornerstone of the business. Your leadership will directly influence customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, and long-term profitability.
What You'll Do as the Parts Supervisor / Parts Sales Advisor / Parts Business Development / Parts Manager / Parts Specialist / Automotive Parts Sales / Commercial Vehicle Parts:
* Lead the setup of the new Parts Department
* Implement, and optimise parts management to track stock, orders, and usage.
* Develop and document standard operating procedures for ordering, receiving, storing, and issuing parts.
* Recruit, train, and mentor a small team to deliver exceptional service to internal and external customers.
* Negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing, reliable delivery schedules, and quality assurance.
* Monitor inventory levels, forecast demand, and implement stock control measures to minimise downtime and waste.
* Collaborate with service, sales, and operations teams to ensure parts availability aligns with business needs.
* Track KPIs such as order accuracy, turnaround time, and stock turnover — and use data to drive continuous improvement.
* Build up the parts sales to external companies
What You'll Bring as the Parts Supervisor / Parts Sales Advisor / Parts Business Development / Parts Manager / Parts Specialist / Automotive Parts Sales / Commercial Vehicle Parts:
* Proven experience in a parts, inventory, or supply chain supervisory role — ideally in automotive, Commercial Vehicle or Fleet Sectors.
* Strong knowledge of inventory control systems and ERP software.
* Excellent organisational skills and the ability to design efficient workflows from the ground up.
* Negotiation skills and supplier management experience.
* A hands-on leadership style — willing to roll up your sleeves and lead by example.
* Strong communication skills to work effectively across departments and with external partners.
* A proactive, problem-solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
