We are now seeking an inspirational Head of Area to lead our Mechanical and Electrical Services provision – overseeing Plumbing and Electrical Installations across both classroom-based and Apprenticeship programmes. Job Title: Head of Area – Mechanical and Electrical Services About the Role: Lead the strategic development and delivery of Plumbing and Electrical Installations programmes Oversee both classroom-based and Apprenticeship pathways to ensure high-quality learning experiences Manage a dedicated team of teaching staff to ensure excellence in teaching, learning, and assessment Ensure the curriculum offer is efficient, responsive, and aligned with industry standards and employer needs Contribute to the overall success and reputation of Colchester Institute’s technical education provision Essential Qualifications: Teaching qualification – minimum of Level 5 (e.g. Certificate in Education/PGCE or equivalent). Degree or equivalent. Evidence of continuing professional development Essential Experience: Knowledge and experience of current practices and innovations in the Sector and in Further Education. Evidence of the effective management of a team of staff, demonstrating improvements in quality and success indicators to achieve excellence. Evidence of leading and supporting staff in the development of strong teaching, learning and assessment embracing innovative practice and leading to demonstrable positive impact for learners.
