Job Description
We are currently recruiting for a compassionate and resilient Complex Needs Teaching Assistant to support pupils within a specialist educational setting in Bournemouth. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping children with additional and complex learning needs achieve their full potential in a supportive and nurturing environment.
The successful candidate will work closely with students who may have autism, speech and language difficulties, sensory needs, physical disabilities, or social and emotional challenges. You will play a key role in supporting both learning and personal development throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide tailored support to pupils with complex needs on a 1:1 and small group basis
* Assist with personalised learning plans and therapeutic strategies
* Support communication, emotional regulation, and independence skills
* Help create a calm, positive, and inclusive learning environment
* Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and support staff
* Support pupils with personal care where required
The Ideal Candidate
* Experience working with children or young people with complex needs is desirable
* A patient, understanding, and adaptable approach
* Strong communication and behaviour management skills
* A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
* Ability to remain calm and positive in challenging situations
