Service Leader – GatesheadFull-time HoursWe are a supported living organisation specialising in bespoke support packages for people with learning disabilities and Autism who want to live fulfilling lives in their own homes, within their community. We are now looking for a Service Leader to join our team in the Gateshead area, supporting a wonderful young person with Autism and a Learning Disability as they take the exciting step of moving into their own home.About the RoleThis is a truly rewarding opportunity to make a real difference. You will be supporting the person to express their wishes, needs and aspirations, while helping them to enjoy the things they love most.They enjoy:Disney, TV, YouTube and musicMatching up coloursCookingWalks on the beach and in the countrysidePay & Benefits£16.83per hour£97.68 – £122.10 per sleep-inAverage annual salary of £38,000+Friend referral scheme with cash bonus£500 bonus after completing 6 months of serviceEnhanced rates of pay for bank holidaysExtra day of holiday after 5 years' serviceMonthly prize draw giveaway (prizes up to £25)Become a partner in our employee-owned trust after 1 year: annual bonusesSick pay scheme, and Smart Health wellbeing services includedFunded social events for team building & staff engagementHoliday pay includes an average of sleep shifts and overtimeWhat We're Looking ForIf you have the following, we'd love to hear from you:Level 5 Social Care qualification (or willing to work towards this) and/or relevant training in supporting autistic people & those with learning disabilitiesCommitment to further training and developmentA person- centred, inclusive approachA positive outlook, creating a happy environment and supporting quality of lifeExperience working with individuals who display behaviours that challengeFlexible, responsive, and person- centred support skillsExperience ofleading a team within Health and SocialcareKnowledge of the Mental Capacity Act & Deprivation of Liberty SafeguardsKnowledge of the Mental Health ActConfidence using & implementing positive behaviour support plansKnowledge or experience of intensive interaction or rebound therapy (training can be provided)Effective communication skills and familiarity with communication aids (PECS, Now & Next, intensive interaction etc.)A clean driving licence and willingness to be a named driverAbility to swim and enjoy swimming activitiesKey ResponsibilitiesTake full responsibility for and work with the Operational Manager & Senior Manager for the effective daily running of your designated serviceSupport the staff team to develop their skills & understanding of the supported personEnsure all policies, procedures, & guidelines for the support of the individual are metCarry out staff supervision, team meetings & appraisals, authorise annual leave, book staff training, complete return to work interviewsEnsure risk assessments & Person-Centred support plans are updated when neededEnsure effective communication with all other parties that may be involvedBe part of the interview process for new staff, ensuring they are mentored & onboardedComplete rotas & timesheets, complete monthly payroll reportsBe responsible for managing finances within the serviceUpdate on-line data bases such as Coolcare, Camascope and NourishBe part of the staff team & work shifts (you will not be required to work nightshift)Be part of the on-call system, to be on stand-by & available to cover services when neededAdditional InformationThis role is subject to an Enhanced DBS checkUnfortunately, we are unable to offer VISA sponsorshipShifts will include evenings, weekends, and waking nightsTPBN1_UKTJ
