Job Purpose:
Take responsibility for the operation of the slicing machine whilst working as part of a production team in the manufacture of products that exceed customer expectations whilst adhering to all required standards, meeting, and exceeding quality standards, achieving targets on time and in full, within budget behaving in a safe manner, ensuring Food Safety and maintaining hygiene standards.
Main Duties
1. Arrive at workstation to commence slicing 15 minutes before start of shift
2. Operate just in time process ensuring material is available to minimise changeovers and downtime
3. Complete data entry and scanning of material in CMEX and ensuring effective returns
4. Programme Selection
5. Ensure log conditioning is to the correct standard prior to loading machine; including facing up of the logs.
6. Load slicing machine
7. Hand slice gripper ends to ensure low levels of waste are maintained, comply with PPE controls as identified in procedures relating task
8. Control product giveaway
9. Support Line leader in the loading and unloading of top and base web
10. Complete an effective handover to next shift
11. Maintain and adhere to Food Safety standards at all times
12. Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices such as :
13. Hand washing
14. PPE requirement
15. Changing procedures
16. Clean as you go
17. Comply with all hygiene standards
18. Only operate equipment, machinery, and tools where training has been provided
19. Adhere to all quality standards
20. Follow all Standard Operating procedures
21. Achieve the production plan
22. Participate in multiskilling through job rotation
23. Support other areas of manufacturing when directed
24. Complete paperwork accurately and at time of checks
25. Provide support and mentoring to new colleagues
26. Always maintain standards of conduct and performance in the workplace including time keeping and following absence reporting procedure
27. Any other reasonable request
Requirements, Experience and Person Specification:
Key Skills
28. Previous manufacturing experience preferred
29. Successful completion or willing to undertake training in L2 Food Safety and L2 Health and Safety Principles
30. Group and site induction.
31. Understanding of relevant risk assessments and trained as competent to safe working procedures.
32. Understanding and application of hazard identification and near miss reporting
