Your new role
Southend City Council are looking to appoint a full-time, permanent Children’s Single Point of Contact (C-SPOC) Team (formally MASH+) experienced Social Worker.The team shares information with every agency and make assessments and decisions to safeguard vulnerable children and young people effectively.You will help the team make faster, more coordinated and consistent responses to safeguarding concerns. Have a clear process for the professional or member of the public raising a concern and work closely with partnerships with clear accountability and improved multi-agencymunications.You will provide a professional andprehensive casework to a caseload of children and young people, ensuring the highest of professional standards and good overall knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations and practice methods. You will identify children in need of protection and effectively safeguard them by investigating, evaluating and analysing information on cases, demonstrating clarity of assessment, reliability of information. Evidence conclusions and realistic action plans, ensuring adequate recording that evidences practice.Hybrid working opportunities are available. However, you are required to be on-site at the Civic Centre a minimum of 2–3 days a week.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this position, you must be able to work in the UK, have a recognised Social Work qualification and be registered with the Social Work England and havepleted your ASYE.You must have working knowledge of C-SPOC/MASH, child protection, looked after children and associated child in need social work practice issues. As well as knowledge of methods of social work intervention, relevant legislation, regulations guidance & policy issues.
