Solutions Engineer (Data / Cloud Platforms)
We’re working with a high-growth, AI-led software business operating at the heart of the cloud data ecosystem, helping enterprise customers significantly reduce spend across platforms like Snowflake, Databricks and BigQuery.
Following strong growth and recent backing, they’re now hiring a Solutions Engineer to partner closely with sales and take ownership of the technical side of the deal process across EMEA.
This is a genuinely commercial SE role. You’ll be embedded in deals from day one, leading technical conversations, shaping outcomes, and playing a direct role in closing business.
🚀 Key Responsibilities
* Own technical discovery alongside Account Executives, understanding customer environments, challenges and cost drivers
* Lead proof of value (POV) engagements end-to-end, ensuring clear technical validation and alignment
* Deliver tailored, high-impact platform demonstrations tied directly to business outcomes
* Build and present strong ROI cases, clearly articulating financial and operational value
* Take full ownership of the technical win across the sales cycle
* Act as a strategic partner in deals, contributing to positioning, messaging and close strategy
* Represent the business at customer events and industry engagements
* Translate customer feedback into structured insight for product teams
🌟 What We’re Looking For
* 5–10 years’ experience in a pre-sales / Solutions Engineer role within B2B SaaS
* Strong exposure to cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks or BigQuery
* Proven experience running discovery, demos and POVs, not just supporting them
* Track record of building business cases and clearly demonstrating ROI
* Commercial mindset — comfortable influencing deals, not just supporting technically
* Background in data, analytics, or adjacent ecosystems (e.g. dbt, Looker, ThoughtSpot, Sigma, Fivetran)
* Strong communication skills, able to engage both technical and commercial stakeholders
* Additional European languages are a bonus
* 🚫 Not a fit: infrastructure-only engineers, highly technical profiles without customer-facing sales experience, or SEs who sit purely in a support capacity
📦 The Package
* £145,000 – £165,000 base salary
* Bonus / variable on top
