Job Summary
Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (LYPFT) is recruiting Consultant Psychiatrists to work within the newly transformed Integrated Community Mental Health Teams (CMHTs) across Leeds and York. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality, trauma‑informed psychiatric care to adults and supporting the mental health workforce across the Trust.
Responsibilities
* Regular clinical reviews, hub meetings, and core team meetings.
* Advice and guidance to primary care and referral services.
* Daily huddles and flexible clinical input within the Care Planning and Advice (CPA) framework.
* Approval of clinical practice and holding Responsible Clinician status for those subject to MHA 1983 under care.
* Complex prescribing and review, including provision of Approved Clinician status.
* Effective liaison with local mental health providers, local authority professionals and statutory organisations.
* Risk management and provision of safe care.
* Work intensively and assertively with the client group, contributing to the multidisciplinary community team.
* Provide professional leadership and protected clinical supervision to core and higher trainees, SAS doctors and other staff.
* Support the clinical leadership structure, operations management and cross‑trust services within the Integrated Care System (ICS).
Qualifications
* MBChB and MRCPsych; CCT or CESR in general adult psychiatry.
* Evidence of ability to work well in multidisciplinary teams (MDT).
Experience
* Predominant experience in general adult psychiatry.
Skills
* Evidence of previous leadership experience or motivation in developing medical leadership.
* Evidence of ability to work well in MDT.
Other Information
Salary: £119,490 to £145,478 per annum.
Contract: Permanent, Full‑time.
Location: St Mary’s Hospital, Leeds, LS12 3QE.
UK professional registration required; visa sponsorship available for registered healthcare practitioner roles.
