ROLE: Shift Manager
LOCATION: Corby
HOURS OF WORK: Sunday – Thursday - 22:00 – 06:00
BASIC SALARY: Up to £46K D.O.E

We are working with an industry-leading company based in Corby, renowned for their commitment to quality and excellence. As part of their continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Shift Manager to join their dynamic team.
Your responsibilities as a Shift Manager:
* To manage and coordinate the entire Manufacturing and Logistics operations, ensuring all resources are available and skills and competencies are in place to deliver required volume targets, maintain safety and quality standards and adherence to overall plan.
* To maximise the contribution of plant assets and resources optimising plant OEE performance, liaising with other key functions.
* To drive a culture of continuous improvement within the operations teams by ensuring lean initiatives are in place to fully develop the potential of people and processes.
* To take responsibility for nominated shift and the setting up of the following shift, ensuring established procedures and safe methods of work, taking corrective action where necessary.
* Manage shift activities liaising with planning and support functions to maintain required service levels against demand and adherence to production plan.
* Manage team performance to deliver against defined KPI’s.
* Monitor and calculate performance v target in terms of HSE, quality, cost, OEE, staff and waste
* Act as the key communication link between departments during the shift, ensuring smooth coordination of operations, and effectively hand over critical information to the incoming shift, senior management, and relevant business functions
* Lead operations teams in safety, quality and continuous improvement activities, advocating ownership and expected behaviours, always leading by example
* Have a sound knowledge of systems and procedures and carry out all work in a safe manner, reporting any issues via the appropriate system
* Competent across manufacturing and support functions in order that he/she can rotate regularly and co-ordinate resources effectively to deliver consistent high performance and resolve any issues efficiently
* Challenge personal performance and develop own skills and actively engages with the team to expand capability and strive for improved results
* Demonstrate a good understanding of the business and where the supply chain and manufacturing fit as part of the business strategy, understanding customer needs and helping the team to understand
* Promote the need for change and demonstrate a good working knowledge and application of continuous improvement tools in daily work.
To be successful as a Shift Manager you will have:
* 5 years’ leadership experience in Manufacturing environment
* Good level of IT proficiency (MS Office)
* Knowledge of best practice in manufacturing, H&S, production metrics and lean initiatives
* Excellent verbal communication and team work skills
* Logical problem solver and ability to lead problem solving activities
* Proactive and forward-thinking, with the ability to anticipate potential issues and take preventative action to minimise disruption and avoid reactive problem-solving
