Purpose of the Role
Reporting to the Head of Cyber Security, the Cybersecurity Engineer will ensure the security of all group systems, infrastructure (cloud and on-premises), and applications. The role involves delivering and implementing the bank’s technology roadmap, ensuring adherence to security standards and policies.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential, along with the ability to document delivery. The role requires collaboration across teams and disciplines such as Infrastructure and Architecture in an agile environment. This role supports the bank’s Security, Digital, and Cloud strategies.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Experience with SIEM tools (MS Sentinel preferred)
* Understanding of Web technologies and Web Application Firewalls (WAF)
* Knowledge of Windows Server infrastructure (2012, 2016, 2019), Active Directory, and Azure AD
* Ability to understand and articulate technology interoperability and design pragmatic security solutions
* Effective collaboration with internal and external SMEs and partner organizations
* Experience with frameworks such as ISO 27001/2, SOC, NIST, or COBIT
Skills and Qualifications
* Leading security qualification (e.g., CiSP, CompTIA) or working towards one
* Microsoft Azure certifications (e.g., AZ-500, MS-500) preferred
* Experience in hybrid cloud environments, on-premises and cloud platforms
* Pragmatic approach to security solution design, understanding technology interoperability
* Ability to work effectively in an agile environment with internal and external SMEs
Work Hours and Flexibility
37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, with flexible working options encouraged. The bank promotes hybrid working to support work-life balance, with different teams adopting various approaches to flexibility.
