Overview
The post holder is responsible for ensuring the effective 24-hour management of the department, providing clinical and managerial leadership to the nursing team. They will supervise the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care, ensuring that nursing and corporate standards are maintained and measured. The post holder will be responsible for the deployment and supervision of staff to meet the needs of the caseload between both Endoscopy Departments and will provide senior nurse leadership, deputising in the absence of the Matron.
The post holder is responsible for delivering safe, high-quality, patient-centred care in line with Trust policies, national guidance and professional standards, overseeing the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care.
Responsibilities
* Manage the deployment, supervision and coordination of staff to meet service demands across both Endoscopy Departments.
* Act as a senior clinical decision-maker and provide guidance and support in complex situations.
* Monitor compliance with clinical governance, risk management, infection prevention and health and safety requirements.
* Support workforce management including rostering, appraisal and professional development.
* Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives.
* Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team and senior leadership; deputise for the Matron as required, taking responsibility for operational decisions and overall service oversight in their absence.
