Job Description:
A highly experienced and qualified ECI Engineer with extensive experience in designing complex bespoke hardware for heavy machinery control systems and associated field equipment. Responsible for the overall Electrical design scope of projects within a multi-disciplinary team, ensuring adherence to procedures and guidelines. Play an integral role in meeting project milestones for control system design and supply.
As part of the electrical design team, promote continuous improvement and knowledge sharing. Support system and process improvements to enhance efficiency and best practices.
Role Responsibilities:
* Produce technical documentation such as Cable Calculations, FDS, HDS, SDS, and OM Manuals.
* Design electrical control systems using AutoCAD Electrical to meet customer specifications.
* Complete Designer’s Risk Assessments following BS EN 12100 standards.
* Create BOMs for procurement.
* Select components based on specifications for control systems.
* Independently check electrical schematics, GA drawings, BOMs, and calculations.
* Lead the ECI engineering output, providing technical solutions aligning with client needs.
* Utilize comprehensive technical knowledge to develop customer-specific solutions.
* Ensure compliance with IEE Wiring Regulations and standards like EN60204 and EN13849.
* Work autonomously on defined engineering subjects, seeking guidance in specialized areas when necessary.
* Be aware of Health and Safety regulations related to engineering solutions and projects.
* Maintain awareness of current technologies within the ECI discipline.
* Support design reviews with technical solutions.
* Work independently in delivering engineering activities.
* Consider environmental impacts throughout the design process.
* Supervise engineers, graduates, and draughtsmen in executing work packages.
* Recognize the limits of own and team’s technical understanding, seeking guidance when needed.
* Plan and deliver work packages within scope effectively.
* Support technical design proposals during tendering processes.
* Maintain commercial and project awareness, estimating task durations accurately.
* Manage scope changes and implement change control procedures.
* Implement Quality Management Systems and understand quality control procedures.
* Identify, assess, and mitigate design risks throughout the product lifecycle.
* Understand implications of engineering design risks on installation and commissioning.
