A unique opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic apprentice to join East Suffolk Council’s as an Administration Apprentice (Information Governance). Our team is responsible for the provision of advice, support, guidance and training in accordance with UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018. The Data Protection team forms part of the wider Internal Audit Partnership which is made up of Internal Audit, Corporate Fraud and Data Protection.
Your role
Your role will be to provide day to day support and administration to the Data Protection team.
This will include a variety of tasks including providing administrative support to the Data Protection team, including electronic filing and record keeping within excel/access data bases. With the support of the Senior Information Governance Officer respond to email queries, liaise with external partners, support in delivering the Data Protection Plan, assist in compiling statistics for reporting to Strategic Managers and assist the Deputy Data Protection Officer with Data Protection tasks.
You will need:
To have good attention to detail, creativity in displaying documents and the ability to prioritise tasks with competing priorities. All of which will include communicating with the wider council and external partners such as other Councils. You will need to have excellent written and verbal communication skills and IT skills and a minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade C or above or grade 4 -9 (or equivalent). No previous Data Protection and or administrative experience is required, as full training will be provided.

7. 16th May 2024, 5.30pm – 7.00pm at the Riverside Offices (4 Canning Road, Lowestoft, NR33 0EQ)
