We are currently recruiting for a Plant Operative to join the fantastic Readymix ‘RMX’ team working on one of Europe’s largest current infrastructure project.
Safety and operational standards are fundamental aspects of the role with cost control, people management, delivery to customer needs and performance improvement being key.
Main Responsibilities
The Plant Operative will be working within the RMX operations on our plant, working on plant compliance with business policies and procedures; ensuring legislative compliance is also a strong aspect of the role.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities of the Plant Operative, not exhaustive:
1. Delivery of toolbox talks
2. Manage all aspects of daily production including operational costs and control stocks
3. Efficient manufacture of concrete, controlling standard deviation and cement contents
4. Timely resolution of queries assigned to the sector
5. Take responsibility for your own safety and that of colleagues and business partners
6. Maintain site housekeeping to a high standard
7. Batch concrete to meet customer needs whilst meeting internal quality requirements
Key Stakeholders you will liaise with in the responsibilities of this role:
8. Business Manager - Area Director - Health & Safety team - Procurement and support teams - National Logistics team - Area Operations teams - Area Commercial teams - Area HR Manager - Industry Bodies – Customers
Due to the nature of the role we are open to accepting applications from candidates with experience from within a similar ‘heavy’ industry, as product training will be given to the successful candidate
The role is a DAYS role where flexibility is ‘key’ as we also operate nights and weekends to meet our production needs – overtime available
The Ideal Candidate
To be successful in this role the ideal candidate for the position of Plant Operative will have experience and knowledge of:
ESSENTIAL Experience
9. Experience in plant operations
10. Previous experience of a Readymix / Aggregates environment would prove highly beneficial
11. Full knowledge of Risk Assessments and Safe System of Work Systems
12. Working knowledge of production processes
13. Working knowledge of H&S and Environmental policies
DESIRABLE Qualifications
14. IOSH Managing Safely
15. NVQ in fixed and mobile plant operations
Skills
16. Able to actively identify and implement site and process improvements
17. Able to look for opportunities to identify customer needs
18. Able to effectively communicate to feed opportunities into customer services / sales
19. Ability to multitask and manage change
