About the Role
As a Directorate we aim to provide the highest standards of care. Our teams work closely with Specialist nursing teams, Therapists, Doctors, Nursing staff and Pharmacy. Older Persons Services (OPS) are looking for motivated, enthusiastic Band 3 Health Care Support Workers to join our dynamic and friendly team across several of our wards across Bournemouth and Poole hospital sites. It is desired that Candidates have completed their Care Certificate or have a willingness to undertake further training to complete the Care Certificate within UHD.
Assessment and Interview
You may be required to take the Numeracy and Literacy assessment. Dates will be confirmed on selection and will take approximately 1.5 hours. All candidates that are successful with assessments will then be invited to interview at a date to be confirmed. Interview date: 09th March 2026.
Responsibilities and Requirements
* Experience of caring for the older person and acute patients in a hospital setting would be beneficial.
* Working well within a team is also essential.
* Need to be flexible in your working hours to work shifts/unsocial hours including nights as required.
* Opportunities to develop your confidence and your clinical skills in a supportive environment, to build and extend your existing managerial and clinical knowledge.

Travel and Relocation
UHD are investing, developing and transforming Trust services in line with the New Hospital Programme. As part of this, some services may move site this year or next, either temporarily or permanently. Recruiting Managers will be happy to answer any service‑specific questions at interview. If a role or service relocates as part of a planned move, excess mileage will not be reimbursed. Travel from home to the new work base will be classed as a normal commute. Any other changes will be managed under Trust or national terms and conditions.
