Job Description
We seek an experienced and technically skilled Field Application Engineer for our UK and Ireland team. This role involves supporting the sales team within the IABG business unit. As the first local IABG FAE, the ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with OEMs, system integrators, and panel builders.
Main Responsibilities
1. Executing product introduction projects and related campaigns.
2. Supporting customers and distributors in product installation and troubleshooting.
3. Reviewing solution projects and project proposals, making decisions on detailed issues.
4. Tracking project progress and proposing improvements based on product requirements.
5. Managing projects and allocating jobs accordingly.
6. Conducting site surveys for quality issues and assisting R&D with diagnostics.
7. Performing industry testing before factory exit and providing feedback.
8. Proposing requirements aligned with product specifications, regulations, and demand.
9. Monitoring and controlling project execution, coordinating resources.
10. Supporting pre-sales and after-sales activities, including distributor updates.
11. Creating industrial automation architectures with customers to add value.
12. Assisting in machine development, including software support.
13. Undertaking PLC programming and working with Inverter Drives, Servo Drives, HMI, and higher-level software.
14. Designing automation architectures and sizing/ programming robotics.
15. Collaborating with OEMs, system integrators, and panel builders.
Qualifications
* 5-10 years relevant experience.
* Degree or equivalent in Engineering.
* Proficiency in computer software (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word), CODESYS, and PLC programming.
* Strong problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Ability to develop business through consultative selling.
* Architectural thinking and good time management.
* Attention to detail and understanding of product specifications.
* Willingness to travel and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
