EPUT is looking for an enthusiastic and passionate NHS Locum Consultant Psychiatrist to join the Old Age Functional Intensive and Response Support Team (FIRST) in South East Essex based at Harland Centre, Southend‑on‑Sea. The role involves providing specialist care to older adults with mental health disorders and supporting the Dementia Intensive Support Service (DIST) team. Benefits

Provide clinical leadership and be the responsible clinician for patients referred to the FIRST and DIST teams. Review new patients in a timely manner and oversee clinical management of patients in community for hospital avoidance and crisis interventions. Be available for timely reviews and meetings and facilitate discharge planning to community or escalation to inpatient admission as a gatekeeper. Attend multidisciplinary team meetings on inpatient units only for complex patients. Actively support staff development and effect continual service improvement. Provide clinical supervision to SAS doctors. Participate in clinical audit to ensure continuous improvement of the service. Provide cover for holidays and absences to colleagues with mutual consultation and agreement. Qualifications
On specialist register for Old Age Psychiatry or relevant subspecialty. Full GMC registration and Specialist Register with appropriate CCT or equivalent, or within six months of obtaining CCT on date of AAC. We also offer a generous relocation package.
