About the role

This is a unique opportunity to combine Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) expertise with learning and capability development. You’ll work closely with site leaders, managers and frontline teams to ensure we operate safely, remain compliant, and continue to build the skills needed for the future.

You’ll lead the development of competency frameworks, support compliance with SHE standards and legislation, and play a critical role in driving a proactive, positive safety culture across your area.

* Supporting audits, inspections, incident investigations, and safety reviews

* Implementing SHE programmes to meet internal standards and regulatory requirements

* Ensuring effective risk assessments and driving timely corrective actions

* Designing and delivering competency frameworks and training programmes

* Assessing workforce capability and building development plans to close skills gaps

* Leading and developing apprenticeship programmes, including mentoring and oversight

* Managing relationships with training providers and external stakeholders

What we’re looking for

We’re seeking someone who can combine technical SHE knowledge with a strong people development mindset, and who is confident influencing at all levels.

You’ll bring:

* A recognised qualification in Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental Management (or equivalent)

* Strong knowledge of current and emerging SHE legislation

* Experience developing and delivering training or competency frameworks

* The ability to analyse skills gaps and implement development plans

* Experience supporting audits, inspections or investigations

* Excellent communication and influencing skills

* A data-led approach to decision making

Desirable:

* Engineering qualification (HNC or above)

* Assessor or training qualifications

* Experience supporting apprenticeships or structured development programmes

Why join Victrex?

At Victrex, you’ll be part of a business where safety, innovation and people development go hand in hand. You’ll have the opportunity to:

* Shape both how we work and how we develop our people

* Influence culture, capability and compliance in a meaningful way

* Work in a collaborative, forward-thinking manufacturing environment

If you’re passionate about driving safety excellence while developing people and capability, we’d love to hear from you.
