Here at TPTUTORS, we are looking to build our tutor talent pool to support our clients with various student referrals.
Job Description:
We are currently seeking experienced tutors to join our team. Ideal candidates will have extensive experience in Special Educational Needs (SEN) and be available to work around 10-15 hours per week on a part-time basis. There are also roles starting from 1 hour per week. Each referral requires patience and a focus on delivering tuition in core subjects; occasionally, referrals may be for other subjects such as business studies or languages. We provide both in-person (at students’ homes or public areas like libraries or community centres) and online tuition to Local Authorities and Schools.
Job Duties:
1. Provide tailored educational support to students with SEN in requested subjects, creating your own materials and lesson plans to demonstrate your ability to facilitate educational progress.
2. Submit detailed session reports after each session via our virtual reporting platform, which are monitored by the consultant and client and are used in annual and EHCP meetings. Accurate reporting also ensures your pay is processed.
3. Assess students' progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly, demonstrating flexibility and patience as each day may differ. Use assessments available on our platform to measure progress at the start and end of tuition.
4. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and the relevant consultant to ensure smooth coordination and address any challenges, safeguarding all involved.
Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:
* A degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field
* Minimum of 2 years tutoring or teaching experience
* Strong knowledge of the UK education system
* Ability to adapt teaching strategies to individual needs
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Working Conditions:
* Part-time hours, starting from 1 hour per week
* Temporary positions, often lasting until a student gains a school placement; some roles may span multiple academic years
* Flexible scheduling based on your and the student’s availability, with session times arranged between you and parents/carers
