Term Time Swim Teacher
We are looking for candidates who have experience working within the leisure industry. The candidate will need to be self-motivated and reliable; working in and out of schools with young people is a rewarding yet very demanding role.
The successful candidate(s) will work as part of a growing and supportive swim team in a range of Primary schools around Peterborough under the guidance of management.
Good communication and problem solving skills are essential as the successful candidate will be dealing with pupils, parents, school staff and other stakeholders. The qualities of reliability, resilience and an enthusiasm to work with young people will also be vital. Basic ICT skills (Email, Word, Excel PowerPoint) are also desirable.
We will expect any applicant to have their Level 2 swim teaching certificate. Safeguarding and first aid training desirable, but we can arrange with an external provider if need be.
Location: Peterborough area
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm
Contract: Term Time Only - October 2025 start till July 2026 (Possibility of permeant position)
Rate of Pay: £15 per hour
Job responsibilities:
* You will be expected to teach classes and be apart of the Swim:ED team at our pop up pools.
* Work with children between 5 -11 years old
* Keeping the facilities clean, tidy and safe
* Assisting with water testing and chemical dosing (training provided)
* Keeping accurate records and feeding back to schools regarding pupil progress
* Carrying out and recording pupil assessments
* Leading lesson and adapting based on need and ability
* Be responsible and reliable
* Apply First Aid (where trained)
* Ensure participants have fun, are engaged and gain self-belief and confidence in performance.
* Show drive and determination for child development and opportunities in sport
* Show good behaviour management

The successful candidates will obtain on-the-job training and feedback to continue their coaching journey. They will have access to the Fiesta Sports Coaching database of session/lesson plans. Candidates will have face-to-face meetings with a mentor/line manager from Fiesta Sports Coaching who will provide feedback and help with action planning.
