Job Description
At WSP, we provide sustainable development infrastructure solutions from planning through to full implementation. We advise on Highways, Public Realm, Sewerage, SUDS, Building Drainage, Earthworks, Flood Protection and Utilities Coordination/Diversion on residential, retail, industrial, commercial, educational and healthcare developments in the UK.
Our Development team works closely with other WSP disciplines on high profile multi‑disciplinary projects. All staff are encouraged to progress toward Engineering Technician, Incorporated Engineer or Chartered Engineer status via ICE, IHT, CIWEM or equivalent.
Your Role
As a Senior Member of the Utilities Team, you will lead engagement, advise clients on technical utilities matters and manage project teams to deliver innovative solutions. You will handle projects from concept to detailed design and lead the masterplanning, coordination and design of multi‑utility infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead a variety of utility projects from local schemes to national significance.
* Work within multidisciplinary teams in the UK and internationally, ensuring coordinated delivery.
* Serve as the senior point of contact for development team and clients on key projects.
* Drive business growth and develop new client relationships.
* Mentor and develop the growing team.
* Maintain high quality service and uphold professional reputation.
* Deliver commercially aware project and programme management.
Required Qualifications
* Chartered Engineer or working towards Chartered status.
* Civil Engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
* Experience delivering utility connections, diversions and infrastructure strategies.
* Understanding of electricity, gas, water and telecommunications networks.
* Experience with multi‑utility/IDNO/ICP and commercial risk management.
* Ability to develop utility demand calculations.
* Excellent communication and team leadership skills.
* Experience directing BIM teams (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit).
* Strong client relationship management.
* UK Security Check (SC) required.
