Job Description
Currently we have an excellent opportunity for a Consultant in CAMHS Psychiatry to join a specialist six-bedded inpatient Eating Disorders Unit within a newly developed adolescent service. You’ll provide senior clinical leadership, work as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team, and contribute to ongoing service development within a forward-thinking inpatient setting, including a new on-site education provision and established local CAMHS triage/admission pathway.
Salary
FTE £180K (£108,000 per annum part-time)
Position: Consultant in CAMHS Psychiatry – Inpatient Eating Disorders Unit
Hours: 22.5 hours per week (Part Time)
Setting: Tier 4 CAMHS / Inpatient Eating Disorders Unit (6 beds)
Location: Stafford
Key Responsibilities
* Lead MDT clinical care for young people on the inpatient unit
* Conduct ward rounds, assessments, reviews, and discharge planning
* Attend and contribute to family meetings and case conferences
* Provide supervision and clinical oversight to specialty doctors
* Support clinical governance, audits, and service development initiatives
* Liaise effectively with NHS stakeholders and external agencies
* Participate in the consultant on-call rota (1 in 4)
Qualifications
* GMC registration with CCT in CAMHS Psychiatry (or equivalent)
* Approved Clinician status and Section 12(2) approval
* Tier 4 CAMHS and/or eating disorders inpatient experience
* Strong clinical leadership and excellent communication skills
* Willingness to complete Enhanced DBS and compliance checks
