Job Description : About the Role
Microchip Technology is seeking a highly skilled Senior Field Applications Engineer (Wired Networking Specialist) to join our UK team. This role is pivotal in providing advanced engineering support and developing demos for Wired Networking and USB applications. You will play a key part in supporting high-value customer projects across Europe, ensuring our clients receive the best solutions and technical expertise.
This is a field-based role allowing the candidate to be based anywhere in the UK with an expectation of domestic travel up to 50% of the time. Attendance at monthly in-office days at the Winnersh office (or designated off‑site locations) is expected.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver in‑depth engineering support to help win selected customer projects focusing on Wired Networking and USB system architecture and hardware development.
* Visit customers (with Sales Personnel Distributors or independently) to guide solution selection and ensure successful system implementation using Microchip products.
* Lead and utilise all elements of Microchip’s Sales Operating System to secure design‑wins.
* Adapt existing reference designs to meet specific customer requirements.
* Deliver and facilitate customer Knowledge Capture Trainings (KCTs) and technical training classes for distribution FAEs.
* Support embedded solutions engineers in winning designs within your specialist technology area.
* Actively participate as a member of the Wired Networking Function Group.

Eligibility & Qualifications
* Proven experience in Wired Networking and USB applications, system architecture and hardware development.
* Strong customer‑facing skills, able to deliver technical training and adapt solutions to customer needs.
* Experience supporting high‑value accounts and working within a sales‑driven engineering environment.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a specialist function group.
