Astute's Power team are looking to recruit a Outage QA/QC Engineer on a 3 week outage in Cheshire starting in March 2026. The position will be on days only, working 12 hours, 7 days a week once in outage. The Outage QA/QC Engineer roles come with an hourly rate of £40.00. Key skills required for Outage QA/QC Engineer role Provide QA/QC oversight during vessel boxing-up activities, ensuring correct gasket installation, bolting procedures, torquing, and final closure compliance. Monitor and inspect valve welding activities, confirming adherence to approved WPS/PQR, material traceability, welder qualifications, and NDT requirements. Oversee welding works, ensuring compliance with welding procedures, pre/post-weld heat treatment requirements, and inspection hold points. Oversee valve overhaul activities, verifying inspection records, component replacement, pressure testing, and correct reassembly/ installation. Ensure all quality documentation, ITPs, weld records, NDT reports, and test certificates are completed and compiled accurately. Liaise with site management, contractors, and client representatives on quality matters. Raise and manage NCRs where required and ensure close-out of quality issues.
