Manager, Economic Crime Unit (ECU Manager)

Responsibilities
* Lead the Economic Crime Unit (ECU), a specialist team dedicated to removing the financial benefit from criminals.
* Strategic lead for financial investigations, ensuring the agency fulfills obligations under the Process of Crime Act (POCA).
* Manage two Team Leaders: one responsible for the Asset Denial Team and one responsible for the Money Laundering Investigation Team, and a Senior Financial Intelligence Officer.
* Provide strong leadership, motivating and developing the team and managing performance and work delivery.
* Collaborate with internal teams such as Investigatory Teams, Intelligence & Partnerships, and Legal, and with external partners such as Police, National Crime Agency, and HMRC.
* Influence at a senior level to ensure the agency’s priorities are supported and recognised by other external enforcement agencies.
* Support the wider organisation in continually improving the way we work and increasing understanding of the POCA legislation.
Qualifications
* Exceptional leadership skills with experience leading a dispersed team.
* Good understanding of financial investigations and the Proceeds of Crime Act.
* Experience working in the law enforcement sector and an understanding of the National Intelligence Model.
* Communicating effectively, including delivering feedback, managing performance, and building relationships with external stakeholders.
* Working under pressure and prioritising a varied workload.
* Identifying areas for improvement and leading changes to working practices.
* Developing and enhancing the capability of a team and the individuals within it.
Additional Information
This is a hybrid working role and you’ll work flexibly from home and your nearest office. There will be a requirement for travel across the country for meetings and operational duties. Incident response is a central part of what we do. You’ll be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident. Training and workplace adjustments will be available to support you.
