My client, a respected Housing provider in Kent, is recruiting a Part-Time Senior Financial Accountant on a 3-6 month contract to support them during a critical phase of financial delivery. This interim post will play a key role in laying the foundations for a successful FY25/26 audit, while also overseeing the organisation’s VAT compliance and complex reconciliation activity.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Leading on quarterly VAT returns and ensuring accurate submissions
2. Taking ownership of high-level balance sheet and control account reconciliations
3. Reviewing financial processes and addressing historic anomalies where required
4. Supporting groundwork and preparation for the /26 year-end and audit process
5. Providing senior input into financial controls and compliance activities
This is a great opportunity to step into a senior technical finance post with a clear, focused remit — where your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring confidence in reporting and audit readiness.
The role is offered on a part-time basis (3–4 days per week) and operates on a hybrid working pattern, with office attendance in Kent once per week where possible.

6. Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent)
7. Strong experience in Financial Accounting roles within the Social Housing sector
8. Proven ability to lead on VAT, reconciliations, financial statement and year end audit preparation
9. Available at short notice to begin a part-time interim post
