To Be Announced
At Skills and Education Group, we are passionate about the advancement of skills and education to improve the lives of individuals. We provide regulated qualifications, funding opportunities and professional development programmes to further education and skills providers – and much more.
Who we are
We are currently navigating a critical phase of transformation, with renewed leadership and a clear roadmap to financial sustainability, governance reform, and strategic focus. Having made significant progress to recover from a period of overextension, we are focused on simplifying our structure, strengthening our offer, and building an inclusive and values-led culture. Our members and customers include colleges, independent providers, employers, and voluntary sector organisations, united by a shared commitment to quality education and opportunity.
Who we are looking for
We are seeking a qualified and experience HR professional who embodies strategic insight, emotional intelligence, and a deep commitment to inclusive leadership. You will hold Chartered or advanced CIPD credentials and bring significant experience in a senior HR role, with a proven ability to influence and advise senior leaders and boards on complex organisational and workforce matters.
You will be confident operating at the governance level, whether through direct board support or board membership yourself. Your understanding of statutory frameworks, regulatory compliance, and governance processes will equip you to act as a trusted advisor, ensuring that board operations reflect excellence, legality, and values-led oversight.
You’ll combine a firm grasp of GDPR and data protection legislation with practical application in HR settings, have rigorous attention to detail, strategic problem-solving, and a proactive mindset. Able to manage sensitive casework and mentor high-potential colleagues, you will bring empathy, resilience, and credibility to every interaction. You will be adept at building trusted relationships, managing competing priorities with composure, and translating organisational ambition into effective HR and governance strategies.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills - both written and verbal - will enable you to foster transparency and collaboration across the Group. With a flexible, autonomous working style, you will be comfortable navigating ambiguity and driving continuous improvement. Above all, you’ll share our belief in the power of education to advance lives and bring the insight, initiative, and ethical leadership needed to shape our people and governance practices.
